Qualifications
Licensed Customs Broker
- 5 years management experience in the International Freight Forwarding / Customs Broker Industry. In-depth knowledge of International Air and Ocean import and export transportation and logistics.
- Knowledge and experience in documentation requirements for International Exports including shipments requiring State Department license, NAFTA Requirements, Food and Drug Administration, SASO Certifications, NOM Certifications, Carnets, Temporary Import Bonds, Transportation and Exportation Bonds, Pro-Forma Invoices, Certificate of Origin, Certificate of Registration and IATA Hazardous Materials.
- Working knowledge of all US Customs Clearance requirements and documentation needed for the legal importation of goods into the US and possess a complete working knowledge of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States.
- Working knowledge of international banking as it relates to International Letters of Credit with the ability to review letters of credit and identify discrepancies with a high degree of accuracy.
- Candidate will establish and negotiate buying tariffs for all major international airlines, ocean carriers and NVOCC’s.
- Will develop and manage an Import Operations Department handling all Day-to-Day Import operations, including but not limited to quoting, routing, documentation preparation and submissions, shipment tracking, shipment alerting to foreign agents and insuring agents complete requested instructions.
- Customs Broker license preferred
- Bachelor Degree in International Business or related field preferred
- Seven or more years in a transportation and/or customer service environment with supervisory and freight forwarding experience preferred
- Experience in purchasing and setting up an international agent network preferred
- Dangerous Goods Certification in IMDG/DOT/IATA preferred
- Regular attendance is required.
