Location: Corporate Office - Richmond, VA

Department: Procurement Services

Job Summary
  • Responsible for the support functions necessary to the project and purchase activity of procurement services group
  • Process all purchase requisitions, including evaluation of requests, resolution of any deficiencies, placement of purchases, communication with all affected persons
  • Process all incoming mail and route appropriately
  • Gather appropriate data and generate spend reporting
  • Process all invoices, including summary invoices
  • Assist in administration of SunTrust corporate card program
  • Handle all appropriate calls related to purchases and/or vendor issues
  • Complete all necessary filing
  • Assist in new program roll outs
  • Create documents that compare vendor quotations, lead times, quality of product and service to facilitate determination of which vendor for each project is most cost effective
  • Maintain record of realized cost savings for reporting purposes
  • Assist in administration of Enterprise/National Car rental program
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent written and verbal communications and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Skilled in use of the entire Microsoft Office Suite desired including Access, Microsoft Project and Sequel
  • Knowledgeable in standard office management systems and procedures
  • Superior interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work comfortably with staff at all levels
  • Strong process management skills with a successful track record of process improvement
  • Ability to see the bigger picture, but also to hone in on specific details to make sure a project meets its stated goals
  • Desire and ability to accept increased responsibility, learn new systems and successfully apply them in the execution of the responsibilities of this position
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience desired
  • Strong understanding of the transportation industry and logistics management
  • Basic knowledge of general ledger accounting desired
