Estes Express Lines Announces 2020 General Rate Increase

RICHMOND, VA—Our most important goal at Estes is to provide our customers with reliable freight transportation solutions so they can focus on what matters most. As technology’s role in the transportation industry has grown, so has our commitment to enhancing our own capabilities and equipment. It is this decision to prioritize technology that ensures our customers can count on efficient, reliable service whenever they ship with Estes.

In order to continue providing the quality service our customers have come to expect from us over the last nine decades, Estes will be implementing a General Rate Increase (GRI) on Monday, March 2, 2020. Primarily, this GRI will help offset the rising costs of technology, but it will also help us account for the ever-growing costs of maintaining a stable operational structure, driver recruitment and retention, and our employee base.

The overall impact will be 3.9%, with specific lanes adjusted based upon operational needs. The increase will apply to shipments moving under Estes’ current EXLA 550 base rates and minimum charges within the U.S. and cross-border with Canada.

Updated rates for the EXLA 550 tariffs will be available on the Estes website’s PC Rater Download page by March 2, 2020. At the same time, the new EXLA 105 Rules Tariff will be posted to the website. In the meantime, individual rate quotes are available on https://www.estes-express.com/myestes/rate-quote/, or by calling a rate specialist at 866-ESTES4U (378-3748), and by pressing 12.

We appreciate our customers’ understanding as we continue to focus on a pricing discipline designed to help us provide the quality service you have come to depend upon. As always, we thank you for choosing Estes.

Signed,
Richard G. Ellis
